Summer Reading Challenge 2023

Join us for the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge! It's for all ages and will take place June 1 through July 31.

Reading Challenge

This year we have set a challenge of reading 1,000 minutes per participant as well as a community challenge of one million minutes. Every time you read you help meet those challenges and help us reach our goals!

You can use Beanstack to track reading, earn badges, and participate in extra fun. You can signup and participate online or with the Beanstack app from the Google Play store or Apple Store.

If you wish to participate with traditional pencil and paper that's fine too! Simply visit your local library to sign up on or after May 25 and receive a reading log.

Reading Prizes

No matter how you participate, you'll be eligible for prizes which include stickers, fidget spinners, stress balls, notebooks, book bucks, food coupons, bookmarks, reading lights, and more. Each time you read 250 minutes you complete a level, and each level opens up a new prize option. Once you read 1,000 minutes you complete the reading challenge and are eligible for one of the grand prize drawings! This year there will be a grand winner at each library for each age group (children, teens, and adults), and winners get to choose their grand prize from the following choices:

Carbondale Clay Center: Certificate for private two hour lessons for a group up to 4 people. Includes hand building, pre-glazing, The Carbondale Clay Center will fire, and winners will pick up their pieces two weeks later
