Winter Lecture Series: Ute History, Then and Now

In the final installment of the Winter Lecture Series, Roland McCook will talk about Ute History, then and now. McCook is a full-blood Ute and a lineage holder for traditional Ute ways. As a vice-chairman of the Smithsonian Institution Native American Repatriation Review Committee, he has travelled extensively returning Indian artifacts and human remains to native peoples of the Americas. He is a former chairman of the Northern Ute Tribe and member of the Uncompahgre Ute band. This program is jointly presented by the Frontier Historical Society and the Glenwood Springs Branch Library, and sponsored by Gary Hershoren and Ilene Harris. Light refreshments will be served.
