Coffee Talk: Spring Gardening & Backyard Chickens

Join Rose LeVan from Sustainable Settings and Illene Pevec from LiveWell Garfield County to talk about what to do now for a summer garden: how to prepare soil, what seeds to start, how to layout a garden, how to protect from critters, and the best crop for where you live. We will also talk about how to create a safe, fertile environment for a home chicken coop: what birds to keep, how to deter predators, are there pre-made coop kits, how to sell eggs at market and what are municipal rules for having a coop?

Coffee Talk is a program geared toward young adults ages 18-30 and will cover a wide range of cultural and current event topics for discussion, guest speakers, game nights, demonstrations, and presentations. Coffee and dessert will be served. Presented in partnership with Rock Canyon Coffee.
