Author Talk: Linda Helmich

Local author and artist Linda Gotch Helmich will be at the library to talk about and sign copies of her recently published diary memoir, "Becoming Hulda's Girls." The presentation begins at 6:30 pm with a reception taking place after. An exhibition of Helmich's paintings will be on display at the library for the month of June.

"Becoming Hulda's Girls" is the one year diary of four sisters growing up in the 1950's in the small town of Streator, IL. Helmich and her husband Don have lived in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1969 when they moved to Aspen. They have lived in Glenwood Springs for the past 13 years, where Helmich has worked as a professional watercolorist, painting many local scenes, especially Mt. Sopris. Her cards are available at the Book Train and her artwork has been available in various galleries over the years. This is her first published book.
