Winter Lecture Series: Mines of Coal Basin

 “Mines of Coal Basin” is a book which recounts tales of adventure, courage, determination and innovation in Redstone Colorado. The author, John A. Reeves resides in Glenwood Springs and is the featured speaker in the first installment of the Winter Lecture Series, co-sponsored by the Frontier Historical Society and the Friends of the Glenwood Springs Library.


Mr. Reeves holds a B.S. in Mining Engineering and an E.M. degree from the University of Utah. He served as Vice President and President of Mid-Continent Coal and Coke Company and Mid-Continent Resources, a totally owned subsidiary of Mid-Continent Minerals Corporation. Join us at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Thursday, January 17th at 7:00 pm, and hear Mr. Reeves discuss his book and his extensive experiences in the mining industry. The program is free, open to the public and held in the lower level of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library at 413 9th Street.

The annual Winter Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the Frontier Historical Society and the Friends of the Glenwood Springs Library and is held on the third Thursday of each month, January through April.
