Any interested person can send a letter of interest and resume to the Garfield County Public Library District Board of Directors, care of:

Recommendations for appointment are sent to the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners for review and approval on an as‐needed basis.

 

Mill levy and total tax revenues:

 

The Garfield County Public Library District collects 1 mill of property tax annually through 2027 as well as one-quarter cent of the County sales tax. In 2011, a state sales tax refund was levied against sales tax revenues for Garfield County and GCPLD lost over $1.2 million in sales tax revenues over a two year period. This amount was partially backfilled by Garfield County with a grant of $487,500. Board meeting information:

The Garfield County Public Library District Board of Directors meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. The meetings rotate between the six branch libraries and the Administrative offices. The agenda and meeting announcements are posted on our website at gcpld.org/content/board-trustees as well as on the bulletin boards at all six library locations one week in advance of the meetings.
