Teen and Tween Introduction to Yoga

Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library Thursdays at 2:30 for Teen and Tween Introduction to Yoga!

Local yoga instructor, Flash, has created an introduction to yoga course, designed to be a fun way for kids 11-18 to learn and understand yoga. It is an introduction to yoga, what it is and what different types of yoga exist for exercise and stress relief.  The course will last five weeks, using the chakra energy center system as framework, building from the bottom (or base) and working up.  Each chakra relates to a physical and emotional element in the body and we will explore these each week, learning postures that can help to balance the chakras. Teens will learn about color awareness, aromatherapy, and breathing techniques as they relate to each chakra.
