String Painting @ Spring Break Art Camp
The Rifle Branch Library is hosting a Spring Break Art Camp for 1st through 3rd graders on March 28-30th from 10am-12pm. Students will learn new art techniques, and a scholarship for the "Art from the Heart" art school in Rifle will be awarded for the most creative piece.
On Wednesday, March 28, Tara Charlesworth will be teaching string painting from 10am-12pm. String painting is a creative art form that involves an assortment of tempera paint colors and a few long pieces of yarn.
On Thursday, March 29, Marie Proctor will providing instruction on mosaic art. Mosaic is an art form made with small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. Individual pieces fit together to form a design, which is set in mortar.
On Friday, March 30, Marie Proctor will teach a class of tie-dye poster painting.
Lunch will be served each day from 12-1pm. Advanced registration is required; space is limited to 20 students per session.
Finally, the Rifle Branch Library will host an ceremony on Friday, March 30 at 6pm. During this reception, students will receive certificates of participation, and the scholarship recipient will be announced.
