"Why did my library card expire?"

Garfield County Libraries borrower cards have an "expiration" date, which simply acts as a reminder to confirm that your account information is current and correct. This helps us keep our database up-to-date and also helps us to remove old accounts which have been dormant for several years.

Librarians will generally try to confirm your account information with you prior to the date, but occasionally a card will sneak past us. If you are getting an error message or having trouble holding or checking out items, there's a good chance that your card has "expired."

Currently, limitations on our database do not permit card holders to renew their card online. To renew your card, please visit or call a branch library or reach us by email at gcpldadmin@gcpld.org.
