Lorax Lessons for Adults
Join us at the Rifle Branch Library at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, for two environmental presentations we're calling "Lorax Lessons for Adults." Steve Anthony, Vegetation Manager for Garfield County, will present a program called "Invasive Species: Not Just Weeds" and Patrick McCarty, Extension Agent with Colorado State University Extension, will present "Human Populations, Natural Resource Supplies: Have We Scared Our Children Yet?" The presentations will take place in the Community Room upstairs. Both are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Rifle Branch Library at 625-3471.
Why "Lorax Lessons?" We're referring to the Dr. Seuss classic, The Lorax, which carried an environmental message. A new film version of the story will open in March on what would have been Dr. Seuss' 108th birthday.
