Try the books by author Jake Maddox, who has written an number of high-interest, easy-reading sports stories for both girls and boys. His books cover a wide range of sports with titles such as Board Rebel (skateboarding), Paintball Invasion, Takedown (wrestling), BMX Bully, Wild Hike, Batter Up (baseball), and Jump Serve (volleyball). Not only do these exciting stories deal with the skill and speed of a sport, but also obstacles and topics like self-confidence, persistence, and courage. Maddox has also written some exciting survival stories titled Blizzard!, Shark Attack!, and Volcano!
