Bossypants
Summary:
From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon, comedian Tina Fey reveals all, and proves that you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Staff Review:
I snatched this book (well, audiobook to be honest) off the shelf because I love Tina Fey. Everything I had seen her write or star in up to that point was gold. While sometimes I build things up way too much in my mind and there is no possible way they can meet my expectations, fortunately, this book was one of the rare cases which was able to go even above my lofty dreams.
I recommend listening to the audiobook version because it is Tina, herself, who does the narration. She has the inflections we have all come to love, and the comic's timing that will make you laugh time and again. Plus, she reads it to you like you are her friend, sitting on her couch just chatting the night away.
I think the best compliment I can give this book is that I didn't want to finish it. In fact, I got halfway through it quickly and then stopped. I couldn't touch it for about two weeks. I was happier knowing it was there waiting for me, than letting it come to an end. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and devoured the last half with an enormous grin on my face the entire time. I love Tina Fey and I can't wait until she writes again.
