Summary:

Mouse Mistress Hildegarde musters all her ingenuity to keep a large colony of church mice safe from the exterminator and to see that they make it through the dangerous Blessing of the Animals.

Staff Review:

This is a charming tale about the church mice of Saint Bartholemew’s. The main character is Hildegarde the Mouse Mistress whose job it is to keep all the church mice safe and out of sight. Some of the main characters are Roderick, Hildegarde, Ignatious and Harvey, plus a cast of over 200 mice. Many challenges are in store for the church mouse family, the annual Blessing of the Animals among them. Life within the stone walls of Saint Bartholemew’s is not as serene or safe as one might think. There are times when this story is full of suspense and you wonder if it will have a happy ending. The ending will surprise you and leave you looking forward to further adventures of the mice of Saint Bartholemew’s.
