Colorado Fossils

The Museum of Western Colorado will lead a talk about what fossils are, how they are formed, what they can teach us, how they are found, their preparation and dating, why they are found in Colorado, and the work of a paleontologist. They will also provide a collection of fossils including dinosaur, plant, mammal, and sea creature remains. They will also talk briefly about the time line of our planet, the changing environment of Colorado, how dinosaurs behaved, and why they disappeared.

Colorado Fossils will be at the Silt Branch Library on Wednesday, July 24, at 1:30 pm.

5th Element 3-4 Class @ Rifle

Children in grades 3 and 4 are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, May 17, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Colors, Colors, Colors!!  Come and explore colors with Ms. Lauren Zabawa.  Students will create symmetrical drawings and paintings using secondary colors. Supplies and snacks will be provided. 5th Element K-2 Class @ Rifle

Children in kindergarten through second grade are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, May 17, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Colors, Colors, Colors!! Come and explore colors with Ms. Lauren Zabawa using hands on activities that will teach you primary and secondary colors. Ms. Zabawa can even make milk change colors! Can you believe this is our last class? We have had so much fun! Children in grades 3 and 4 are invited to the Silt Branch Library on Friday, May 17, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Join Ms. Cathy Carlson as we take a tour of our nearest neighbor to the south, Mexico. Listen, create, and taste Mexican culture. Supplies and snacks will be provided. Mrs. Margaret Cooke will show children examples of Mosaic Art. Using a variety of materials, children will create their own interesting mosaic pieces. Supplies and snacks will be provided. Can you believe this is our last class? We have had so much fun. Children in kindergarten through second grade are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, May 17, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. With a few crafty sticks and some glue, Mrs. Margaret Cooke can help you make animals, frames, or even a special box to keep things in. Supplies and snacks will be provided.
