Kids' Gaming Day
Join us for a few hours during a day off from school on September 19 to play some Wii games, hang out, and eat some snacks. We will be playing the games at the Silt Community Center from 1-4pm. Questions? Call the Silt Branch Library at 876-5500.
Iced Teas From Around the World
The Rifle Branch Library is celebrating the Adult Summer Reading Program's Novel Destinations by serving iced teas from around the world! Join other adult readers every Wednesday in June through July from 3-6pm in the Friends Bookstore to drink exotic teas (served iced) and discuss novel destinations from your reading!
Have Your Cake & Eat It Too!
The Gordon Cooper Branch Library will be serving cake and teas from around the world throughout the day on Tuesday, July 5, to celebrate this year's Adult Summer Reading theme: Novel Destinations.
Henna Tattoo
Get ready for Mountain Fair with a hands-on Henna Tattoo program at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Thursday, July 28 from 4-5pm. Come early to try this temporary tattoo experience. You'll be all the rage at Mountain Fair.
Permission slips need to be signed by a parent to participate.
Bowling for Books
Bowling for Books is back by popular demand! Join the Gordon Cooper Branch Library at the El Jebowl on Thursday, July 21 from 4-5pm. Bowl your way into some great reads! Score prizes for the craziest bowling style, the highest score, and everything in between. Even if you've never bowled before, you should join the fun: you won't regret it!
Dinner & a Movie
As a way of honoring Teen Summer Reading 2011, the Gordon Cooper Branch Library invites you to dive into the theme You Are Here by taking you somewhere far away -- through a movie, that is. Please join us as we travel to distant lands and enjoy foods from a foreign destination. Movie TBA.
Duct Tape Creations
Get crafty and delve into the sticky world of duct tape at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Thursday, July 7 from 4-5pm. You will be surprised at what you can make!
Mask Making
Back by popular demand, the Gordon Cooper Branch Library is hosting a Mask Making program at the Carbondale Town Hall on Tuesday, July 5 at 10am. Let's get creative, and think worldy as we design and explore masks from different cultures from around the world.
The Amazing Race
Come to the Carbondale Branch Library on Thursday, June 23th from 4-5pm to compete in The Amazing Race! You compete in teams on challenges from around the world in a race to the finish! The object of this game is to use your library skills to find the materials you need to collect to survive. You will be rewarded with fish for your accomplishments. Fish earned throughout the game may be used to buy prizes at the fish auction at the end of the game.
