Cookies and a Movie

Stuck at home during your holiday break?  Teens are invited to join us at the New Castle Branch Library for a matinee viewing of The Santa Clause while decorating (and of course eating) some delicious holiday cookies.

InteresTeen Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Celebrate Thanksgiving at the Rifle Branch Library! Teens are invited to create Thanksgiving table centerpieces out of interesting and unusual materials on Friday, November 9th at 1:00 pm. Materials are provided for by the library. Program is limited to 15 participants.

Cookie and a Craft

 Join us at the Rifle Branch Library on Friday November 16 at 1:00 pm for the children's Thanksgiving program Cookie and a Craft. Children will decorate holiday cookies and create Thanksgiving table centerpieces. Materials limited to 60 children.

Decorate Your Own Halloween Trick or Treat Bag!

Join us at the Rifle Branch Library for a special Halloween arts and crafts! On Friday, October 26 at 1:00 we invite children to decorate their own trick or treat bags. Jack-O-Lanterns, bats, witches and ghouls galore! Materials provided by the library, no participation fee necessary. Supplies are limited to the first 60 children.

Halloween Horror Movie and Spooky Costume Contest

Join us at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26th at the Rifle Branch Library for a terrifying Halloween horror movie and spooky costume contest. From the creators of Paranormal Activity and Saw, Insidious will make you shiver with fear! Come dressed up to partake in our costume contest.  The best costumes will receive prizes. Pizza and Halloween Treats will be served.

Holiday Ornament Workshop & Santa Visit

Create your own special holiday ornaments and then visit with Santa at the New Castle Branch Library on Wednesday, Dec 19th. The craft workshop will begin at 5:30 pm. and Santa will arrive at 6:30. Join us for this special holiday event! This event is being co-sponsored by the New Castle Friends of the Library.

Teen Monster Mash

Teens dress up in your best halloween costume for karaoke fun at the New Castle Library on Saturday, October 27th at 3:00 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Call Lee at 984-2346 for more information.

Valentine Party for Middle Schoolers

Join us at the Silt Branch Library on Saturday, February 11, from 1-3 p.m. for a Valentine's Day party. You can decorate cookies, make valentines, and enter your name into a drawing for a box of chocolates. It's a sweetheart of a deal! Contact the library at 876-5500 for more information.

Chinese New Year Party for Teens

Come find out if you're a Rat or a Dragon! (Or a Horse, or maybe a Monkey...) Join us at the Silt Branch Library from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, to celebrate Chinese New Year. Learn about the Chinese Zodiac (like, what does it mean to be a Snake?), snack on egg rolls, and create your own Chinese lantern. We'll also have a drawing for a gift card from Hong's Garden in New Castle! Call the library at 876-5500 for more information.

The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins' amazing best-seller (and first in a trilogy), has been made into a film that opens on March 23, 2012. Haven't read the books yet? It's not too late!
