Breakfast with Santa

Come have breakfast with Santa.  A light breakfast will be served.  Each child will get to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they would like for Christmas.  Santa will read the " Night Before Christmas."

Hanukkah Party - Celebrate the Festival of Lights

Come celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights!  We'll sing Hanukkah songs, light a Menorah, play with Driedels (spinning tops), and eat Latkes (potato pancakes). This year Hanukkah begins the night of December 8, and ends the night of December 15.

Decorate Christmas Cookies

We will have Christmas Cookies for the kids to decorate.  The library will provide the cookies and all decoration materials.

Caroling Around the Block

Preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their accompanying adults are invited to join us at the Glenwood Springs Library for a special holiday storytime on Wednesday, December 19th at 10:30 a.m. We will go caroling in the library and then around the block, including the fire station. 

Gingerbread Houses and Santa!

Santa Claus is coming to town on Wednesday December 5th and he will make a stop at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library!  Children (toddlers through fifth grade) and their accompanying adults are invited to come to the library to make a gingerbread house at 4:00 p.m. and Santa Claus will visit us at 4:30 p.m. All materials will be provided but please bring your own camera. 

Popcorn and a Movie en Español

Come and join us at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, for popcorn and a movie! The Glenwood Springs Branch Library is hosting a showing of the holiday movie "Elf" rerecorded in Spanish. This movie is rated PG and is recommended for kids aged elementary school and up. For more information call the library at 970-945-5958.

Come and join us at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27th, for popcorn and a movie! The Glenwood Springs Branch Library is hosting a showing of the holiday movie "Elf."  This movie is rated PG and is recommended for kids aged elementary school and up. 

Seasonal Songs with Sue

Come to a winter holiday sing along with our Youth Services Librarian and award winning children's musician, Sue Schnitzer. This will be an interactive and fun program for children through elementary school age and adults.  Program will take place at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Monday, December 17th at 6:00 p.m.

Santa Claus Storytime

Santa Claus will be at the Rifle Branch Library on Saturday December 22nd! Join us at 1:00 p.m. for a special storytime as Santa reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas." Afterwards you will have a chance to tell Santa your Christmas wishes as well as create a special Santa craft!

Holly Days Christmas Craft Extravaganza!

As part of the Rifle Holly Days festivities, the Rifle Branch Library will be hosting holiday fun for kids including Christmas crafts, treats, and horse drawn buggy rides to Centennial Park to help decorate a special tree for the tree lighting ceremony! Join us on December 1st from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and get into the Christmas Spirit!
