Volunteer Orientation & Friends of the Silt Branch Library Call-Out Meeting

Anyone interested in volunteering for the Silt Branch Library this summer is invited to a Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, June 4 at 6:00 pm. We will prepare you to be an active volunteer for summer programs and other regular duties in the library.

Youth Volunteer Orientation

Anyone aged 12-18 who is interested in volunteering for the New Castle Library this summer is invited to a Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, June 6 at 1:00 pm. This is your opportunity to earn volunteer hours for college or just to become more involved in your community. The orientation will prepare you to be an active volunteer for summer programs and other regular duties in the library. Come, have fun and volunteer!

Volunteers are asked to sign-up prior to the orientation and have a permission slip signed by a parent.

Colorado Fossils

 The Museum of Western Colorado will lead a talk about what fossils are, how they are formed, what they can teach us, how they are found, their preparation and dating, why they are found in Colorado, and the work of a paleontologist.  They will also provide a collection of fossils including dinosaur, plant, mammal, and sea creature remains.  They will also talk briefly about the time line of our planet, the changing environment of Colorado, how dinosaurs behaved, and why they disappeared.

  A dirt bike, a bulldozer, a monster truck and a kid with a shovel- what do they all have in common? They are all noisy and like to play in the mud!

Charlie Williams is an underground comic and a vocal sound impressionist, better known as “The Noise Guy.” He is a mud-slingin,’ noise-makin’ kids comedian! He’ll take you on an audio off-road adventure to get down to the nitty gritty. You won’t believe your ears!
