The Gordon Cooper Branch Library is continuing the Alex Project into the Fall. For teens this is a chance to increase your college resume, connect with the adults from the community and share the power of a great read. The Rifle Branch Library hosts a book club for all adults and teens on the third Tuesday of each month at noon. For for current title and more information about the club, please contact the library at 625-3471.
Read the book and join us for the movie (even if you haven't read the book). A discussion follows the movie. The food varies each month so be sure to phone ahead and find out what crazy food is planned. This month's the selection is: Extremely Loud and Incredible Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.

Looking for something great to read? Who better to help you pick just the right book than your favorite librarian, back in the library? Join Mrs. Braby as she highlights some of the best books she read over the summer. Teens can join us at the Parachute Library on Monday, September 17th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Need something GREAT to read? Do you ever wander through the library looking for book you can't put down? Join Miss Michelle as she reviews the Best of the Best for grades 5-8. You are guaranteed to find inspiration! Best of the Best Books is on Monday, September 10th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Parachute Branch Library.
Calling all fans of the American Girls! Whether you have read all of the books in this series or just started, join other "American Girls" to talk about the books and pick out some favorites. Bring your doll if you would like to show her off. Fun games, crafts and a drawing for the new American Girl of 2013 book will be featured. Read Sense and Sensibility
Participants of the New Castle Branch Library's Alex Project are invited to a special spaghetti dinner to celebrate the finish of their novels. Dinner will begin at 6:30 at the library.
Practice reading to a friendly dog! Indy the dog provides a pressure-free audience for children to practice their reading-aloud skills -- and he loves to listen to stories! This event requires advance registration and parent permission. Sign up for a 15-minute session at the New Castle Branch. This event is held on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m. Paws to Read is also held at our Gordon Cooper (Carbondale) and Rifle Branches.
The Rifle Branch Library is excited to host Peter McBride's & Jonathan Waterman's travelling photo exhibition, "The Colorado River: Flowing Through Conflict," which will be on display from May 25th through September 30th at the Rifle Branch Library.
