Need something GREAT to read? Do you ever wander through the library looking for book you can't put down? Join Miss Michelle as she reviews the Best of the Best for grades 5-8. You are guaranteed to find inspiration! Best of the Best Books is on Monday, September 10th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Parachute Branch Library.

American Girl Tea Party

 Calling all fans of the American Girls! Whether you have read all of the books in this series or just started, join other "American Girls" to talk about the books and pick out some favorites. Bring your doll if you would like to show her off. Fun games, crafts and a drawing for the new American Girl of 2013 book will be featured.  Participants of the New Castle Branch Library's Alex Project are invited to a special spaghetti dinner to celebrate the finish of their novels.  Dinner will begin at 6:30 at the library.

Paws to Read

 Practice reading to a friendly dog! Indy the dog provides a pressure-free audience for children to practice their reading-aloud skills -- and he loves to listen to stories! This event requires advance registration and parent permission. Sign up for a 15-minute session at the New Castle Branch. This event is held on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m. Paws to Read is also held at our Gordon Cooper (Carbondale) and Rifle Branches.

The Colorado River: Flowing through Conflict

The Rifle Branch Library is excited to host Peter McBride's & Jonathan Waterman's travelling photo exhibition, "The Colorado River: Flowing Through Conflict," which will be on display from May 25th through September 30th at the Rifle Branch Library.
