Book Discussions
Alex Project- Last Day to Sign Up!
The Alex project connects students with adults through a shared love of reading. Teens and Adults may sign up for the Alex Project through June 15th at the Gordon Cooper Library or online here. All participants are invited to attend the celebration dinner on August 6 at 6:30 pm to meet their reading partner and talk about the books they read.
Tween Book Club
Tweens (ages 9 to 12) are invited to read and talk about good books at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Each member selects their own book to discuss. Tweens will be writing anonymous reviews for a library magazine and blog, as well as creating bookmarks about their books for display in the library. The Tween Book Club meets after school from 4 to 5 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Light snacks are served.

Join this new book club where we will explore fabulous stories in the light of day. Please come prepared with ideas for future titles, and plan on having a good time sharing your passion for good books. We will be discussing the book "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet?" by Jamie Ford for the month of April. Light refreshments will be served.
Club meets at the New Castle Branch Library on the second Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am.

"The Grapes of Wrath" Book Discussion
The Glenwood Springs Branch Library is hosting a book discussion on “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck on Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m.
Companion Book Club
Students and parents from the Rifle Middle School are participating in The Big Read Program by reading and discussing the companion novels, “Out of the Dust” and “Esperanza Rising.” Join us for a book discussion and fun evening at the Rifle Branch Library on Thursday, February 28 at 6:00 p.m.
Angry Raisins Book Talk
Join us for the Angry Raisins Book Talk to discuss “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck for The Big Read 2013. This program will be held on Monday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rifle Branch Library. Raisins will be served.
War and Freedom: Civil War Book Discussion
Join us at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Wednesday, April 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the final discussion on the American Civil War. Sarah Swedberg, Ph.D, Associate Professor of American History at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, will provide a background lecture on the subject and will lead the conversation on the selected readings: ʺAmerica's Warʺ anthology (Part Five).
