Book Clubs

All are invited to join the Page Turners Book Club at the Parachute Branch Library for lively conversation and book discussion. The Page Turners meet on the second Tuesday of every month from 7-9 p.m.

Teens, join us at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library for a discussion of books from a different genre each month. Choose a book and have fun talking with others about it while enjoying dessert. No advance registration is required - just come to the library on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Reading Buddies is a free program offered by the Rifle Branch Library that pairs teenage volunteers ("Big Buddies") with students in grades K-4 ("Little Buddies") who are learning to read. Pre-registration is required; visit the branch or call 625-3471. Big Buddies and Little Buddies work together one-on-one for an hour every Thursday from 4-5 p.m., reading and participating in reading-related activities.

The Rifle Branch Library has a teen book club for readers in grades 6-12! The club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Questions? Please contact Amy at 625-3471 (or just stop by the library!).

Readers in grades K through 5 are invited to join in at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library from 4-5 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month. Kids will be partnered with a younger or older reader to practice reading and discover the joys of sharing books with each other. Advance registration is preferred; come by the library or call 963-2889.

The next round of The Alex Project is starting soon! Sign up at the Parachute Branch Library September 26-30. By signing up, you are agreeing to read one Alex Award-winning book with a partner.

Another round of The Alex Project has begun! The Alex Project celebration will be held on Monday, November 14, at the Parachute Branch Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is where you'll meet your partner, rate your book, share your thoughts with the group, hear about the books that other teams read, and sign up for another round, if you so desire. Sign up for this round at the Parachute Branch Library between September 26 and 30.

The Ladies Who Do Lunch meet at the Parachute Branch Library at noon on the third Tuesday of every month. For more information, contact the Parachute Branch Library at 285-9870.
