Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read through art making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held at the Carbondale Branch Library on the first Tuesday of each month at 3:45 pm as part of the Tuesdays @ the Library series, and are for children in grades K-5.
Learn to make a photo album for your own use or for a gift! In this class you will make a simple handmade photo album with 4 x 6 photo inserts, and a decorative cover with a beautiful exposed spine using an "x" binding. This class will offer a step-by-step bookbinding tutorial that you will be able to recreate at home. Additional bindings will be discussed.
Limit of 12 per class. Must sign up in advance. Materials fee of $15.00.
Stories, songs, and fingerplays for children ages 1-5. This bilingual storytime is held at the Carbondale Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 am, and led by Alejandra Rico, Assistant Youth Services Librarian.

Come celebrate summer and the Fourth of July with ice cream sundaes, sidewalk chalk, and outdoor games! This event will be located on the lawn of the closed Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Tuesday, July 2 at 10:30 am. Kids, teens, and adults participating in our Summer Reading Program will also have a chance to turn in their bookmarks and pick up their prizes.
Join us on Saturday, June 8, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon for the first annual How to Festival! It's the perfect opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and have a great time - all for free! We'll showcase hobbyists, business leaders, and entrepreneurs who want to share their talents and knowledge. Come learn something new!
Enjoy books, songs and more at this weekly storytime for children age 2-5. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 pm for Human Board Game!
Part 1: Design your Board Game Square. Using various crafting supplies, inject your creative flair to build your game square in any fashion you choose. Each participant that designs a square is eligible to win a prize in various design categories (for example: most unique game square).
Part 2: The Board Game Squares are created, now let's PLAY! In teams, you will compete AS the game pieces. Prizes awarded during game play in various categories.

Storytime for kids ages 1-5 will be held off-site while the library is closed in preparation for moving to the new building. But not to fear, children and parents/caregivers can still enjoy fun books, songs, and arts and crafts with Jeanine. The only difference will be the location! Storytime will take place at Carbondale Town Hall on the corner of 4th and Colorado at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 27.
