Outreach Summer Reading in Appletree

The New Castle Branch Library is taking the Summer Reading Program to the Appletree Community Room. Join us for stories, crafts, and prizes every Thursday at 10:30am!

Origami, Haiku & Sushi

The New Castle Branch Library is having a Japanese arts and craft day on Monday, July 18th at 2pm. Come try your hand at origami, haiku, and sushi-making with a varity of candies!

Multicultural Crafts Fair & Ice Cream Social

Summer is here, and the Library District's Summer Reading Program is in full gear! Come to the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Tuesday, July 19th at 1pm for an ice cream social and multicultural crafts fair! You can make crafts from around the world while eating yummy ice cream.

Kickoff Celebration & Canvas Bag Making

The Summer Reading Program kicks off at the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, June 16th. Come in for the celebration, and pick up a summer reading book bag to make your own. Use our art supplies, and show off your creative talents.

There will be two sessions starting at 10am and 11am. This is a ticketed event. Please stop by the Parachute Branch Library or call 285-9870 to get your tickets!

The Summer Reading Program kicks off at the Silt Community Center on Wednesday, June 15th from 1-2pm. Come in for the celebration, and decorate the bookbag that you will haul your summer reading treasures in!

Kickoff Program for Summer Reading 2011

Your summer reading fun begins at the Carbondale Town Hall on Tuesday, June 14th at 10am with our Design a Book Bag program. You will be in charge of bringing your imagination, and we will provide all other supplies. What could be better than designing your very own book bag to carry your books to and from the library all summer long!

Aprons and Applique

Create a reversible apron with real personality! Check out the pattern here. Branch Manager Karol Sacca and Patt Jones from the Glenwood Sewing Center will teach you the art of invisible machine applique. There is a sample apron on display at the Parachute Branch Library.

Journal Making

Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Thursday, March 24th at 4pm to create a personal journal so you can get those creaive juices flowing and allow your writing a space to really take off. This program is for those in 7th grade or above, and registration is required.

Cards Made with Love

Come visit us at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Tuesday, February 8th at 4pm as we make Valentine's Day cards together. All children under five must be accompanied by a parent. Registration is required.
