Local artist and CMC instructor Bobbie Van Meter will be hosting an informative workshop about the history and used of gourds as well as offering each class member a chance to make their own with the supplies provided by the library at no charge to participants! Plan for about a 3 hour workshop. This class will be held at the Silt Branch Library on Saturday, November 2 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.

In conjunction with America Recycles Day on November 15, New Castle Branch Library teens will produce a work of art out of recycled materials. This event will occur at 2:00 pm at the New Castle Branch Library. We will repurpose old books, grocery bags, cans, etc. to produce something beautiful. Bring something out of your recycle bin or use our supplies, but come ready to craft!
Join us at the Rifle Branch Library as we celebrate Thanksgiving by making a holiday craft and enjoying a delicious Thanksgiving cookie treat! The fun begins on Friday, November 22 at 1:00 pm! Supplies and treats will be available to the first 75 children.
We're having a tea party on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 pm to celebrate National Picture Book Month! Come dressed as your favorite picture book character, enjoy fun games, have some yummy snacks and create amazing art projects. To indicate your interest in attending, please call the Rifle Branch Library at 625-3471. Participation is limited to 50 children, so sign up today!
Join us on Saturday, November 16 at 9:00 am to learn the art of carving and decorating gourds. Our instructor, Bobbie Van Meter, will be supplying everything you need to complete and take home a beautifully decorated gourd. Material cost of $6.00 each.

Calling all quilters, stampers, needlecrafters, and scrapbookers! Want to have a day of fun and accomplishment? We’ll have tables, irons, ironing boards, and cutting mats all set up for your convenience. Drop in and bring your project for a day of crafting, food, and friends.
Tackle it Tuesday will be held on October 8 from 10:00 - 5:00 pm at the Parachute Branch Library. Bring your own lunch; refreshments will be provided.
The Rifle Branch Library is full of ideas to help you prepare for the big night! Come to our Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bag Decorating craft and use our supplies to create the coolest bag on your block! This craft will take place on Friday, October 25 at 1:00 pm.
School's out and iPads are in. The Community Room at the Carbondale Branch Library will be open to kids and teens, and we'll have all of our iPads available. Stop on in to create music, play games, and learn new apps. This event will occur on Monday, October 14 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Improve your art skills or learn something new as we work on a project with a local artist. We will feature a different project and artist every month! This month, join us for Teen Artist Workshop to work on a paper collage project with local artist Katherine Rich. This program will be held on Thursday, October 3 at 4:00 pm at the Carbondale Branch Library.
Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held at the Carbondale Branch Library on the first Tuesday of each month as part of Tuesdays @ the Library at 4:00 pm and are for children in grades K-5.
