I Did (It) Day

It's an IDD (Instructional Development Day) for teachers so we are having an IDD at the library, too. We are calling it "I Did (It) Day!" We will have stations set up throughout the library with fun activities for children (and parents) of all ages. Students can earn an "IDD Certificate" which they can show their teacher! There will be a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, puzzles, and games. Play "Stump the Librarian" and take part in the Shelving Contest. Stop by the Gordon Cooper Branch Library between 10:00 am and 5:30 pm on Monday, May 13 to play.

A Poem in My Pocket

"In my pocket I placed a poem,
to share with those in need.
A poem so colorful and full of life,
It lifted up souls indeed."

Each week in April at the Rifle Branch Library you are invited to try your hand at writing a poem in various formats. The catch? You must first pluck a piece of paper from the Poetic Pockets on the wall and use the words that are on that piece of paper in your poem. When you have finished your masterpiece, turn it in at the front desk so that we may share it with our community.
