5th Element 3-4 Class @ New Castle
Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, January 11 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn different ways to print with Ms. Margaret Cooke. Children will learn how to rub a print, monoprint, make stencils to print, and even how to make cards using a variety of fun materials and objects. (Kids are encouraged to wear an old t-shirt for this program.) Supplies and snacks will be provided. This class is limited to 25 children, and preregistration is required to attend this event.
5th Element K-2 Class @ New Castle
Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, January 11 from 12 to 2 p.m. to learn how to make monoprints with Ms. Margaret Cooke. Children will learn different ways to print images that can be duplicated again and again. Children will make monoprints using kitchen gadgets, fruit or vegetables, stamps, sponge prints, and block printing. (Kids are encouraged to wear an old t-shirt for this program.) Supplies and snacks will be provided. This class is limited to 25 children, and preregistration is required to attend this event.

Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, January 25 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn about pointillism and how to use small dots of color to create shapes and forms with Ms. Ashley Atwater. We will look at artists who used this form of art to create drawings and paintings. Students will create their own pointillism images using a variety of mediums, such as markers, paint, and stamps. Then we will create a class art gallery where students can enjoy everyone’s artwork! Supplies and snacks will be provided.

We will look at artists who used this form of art to create drawings and paintings. Students will create their own pointillism images using a variety of mediums, such as markers, paint, and stamps. We will look at famous artists’ masterpieces and determine where foreground, middleground, and background are located in each work. Students will then create their own artwork by painting, drawing, collage and more for a class art gallery where students can enjoy everyone’s artwork! Supplies and snacks will be provided.

Well don't be, come on down to the Library and Mr. Stanley will have all kinds of board games, like chess, checkers, and Yahtzee—just to name a few. Oh, by the way, those games will help you with your math skills. This program will be held at the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, December 14 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade.
