The Creative Element

 Teens! Feeling creative? Please join us for the Creative Element at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library. We will make hardware jewelry and duct tape crafts!

Reiki and Massage Therapy 101

If you are interested in finding ways to improve your energy, then this class is for you. Reiki and Massage Therapy 101 is free and will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, at 1:00 pm in the Silt Branch Library's community room.  Put on by local Reiki Master and Massage Therapist Betts Williams, this program will discuss energy, how it feels, how to get in touch with it, and how to use it for healing. You will come away with a new sense of peace and how to help yourself and others.

A Rockin' Good Time

 We are kicking off the Teen Summer Reading Program with a rock party. The theme this year is Beneath the Surface and what do we frequently find there? Rocks! We will be painting rocks, playing Rock Party/Guitar Hero on the Wii, and eating pop rocks. Come and start your summer off like a "rock" star.

Colorado Fossils

  The Museum of Western Colorado will lead a talk about what fossils are, how they are formed, what they can teach us, how they are found, their preparation and dating, why they are found in Colorado, and the work of a paleontologist. They will also provide a collection of fossils including dinosaur, plant, mammal, and sea creature remains. They will also talk briefly about the time line of our planet, the changing environment of Colorado, how dinosaurs behaved, and why they disappeared.
