Learn How to Plant a Terrarium

Have you ever wanted to grow a terrarium? Join us at the New Castle Branch Library on Saturday, June 29 at 1:00 pm where you can learn to put together a beautiful container full of plants. Bring your own container and we will provide plants and soil.

Ice Cream Social

Beat the heat with a yummy treat as we celebrate the end of Summer Reading!

The Parachute Branch Ice Cream Social will take place on Thursday, August 2nd at 11:00 am.

Summer Family Movie Night- Dolphin Tale

 Escape the heat and bring the family to the New Castle Branch Library at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 16th to watch the movie "Dolphin Tale".  We will be providing popcorn and soda.

Alex Project Celebration

 Participants of the New Castle Branch Library's Alex Project are invited to a special spaghetti dinner to celebrate the finish of their novels.  Dinner will begin at 6:30 at the library.

Summer Reading Movie Night

Dream Big with the Adult Summer Reading Program on Thursday, June 21st at 6:30 as we watch the classic movie "Fields of Dreams."  We'll provide the snacks and drinks.  This program is free and open to all ages and families.  

Make a Dream Catcher Workshop

Come to the New Castle Branch Library at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 12th where you can Dream Big as you spend the evening with friends and learn how to make a dream catcher.  All supplies will be provided so you can dream up your own dream catcher to take home.

Star Trails and Light Painting

 Have you ever wondered how photographers take pictures of the night sky?  Sticking with our "Dream Big" Summer Reading theme, local photographer Ashley Mickelson will show you how to take pictures of stars to create star trails.  In the event of a cloudy or rainy night, we will learn how to do light painting, which is done with cameras that can keep the shutter open for long stretches of time.  This is a hands on program, so feel free to bring your camera and a tripod to practice.

Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 20th to watch the movie We Bought a Zoo.
