Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the Silt Branch Library on Friday, February 22 from 12 to 2 p.m. to come learn about world geography with Miss Zabawa. Students will understand the relationship between their community and the world by producing a hands-on activity that will involve painting, coloring, cutting, gluing and maps!. Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Silt Branch Library on February 15 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and how they helped shape our nation with Ms. Margaret Cooke. Children will use books, games, internet research, art projects and even make a snack to gain information about these two great presidents. Children will learn facts about the presidents through stories, songs, and games. Children will do art projects, and even make a snack for President’s day. Popcorn and a Movie
The Silt Branch Library will have a novie for kids grades one through four at 1:00 pm on March 9. The movie will be Ratatouille; popcorn, drinks, and snacks will be provided.
Wii Games
Come play Wii games at the Silt Branch Library at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 16. Popcorn, soda and snacks will be served.
Learn to Swing Dance @ the Library
Garfield County Libraries is pleased to present free swing dance classes throughout February to celebrate The Big Read 2013. Maurine Taufer, Dance Director from the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts, has taught, directed, and choreographed for over 22 years. She is excited to bring you the most favorite dance style of the 1930’s. Whether you have two left feet, no dance experience, or just want to have fun and learn something new -- this class is for you! Come to the library to swing, sway and hop with us, and you’ll be kicking up your heals before you know it.
