A Poem in My Pocket

"In my pocket I placed a poem,
to share with those in need.
A poem so colorful and full of life,
It lifted up souls indeed."

Each week in April at the Rifle Branch Library you are invited to try your hand at writing a poem in various formats. The catch? You must first pluck a piece of paper from the Poetic Pockets on the wall and use the words that are on that piece of paper in your poem. When you have finished your masterpiece, turn it in at the front desk so that we may share it with our community.

Honoring Those in Active Duty

Join us in giving thanks to those serving in active duty by writing them a letter at the display table at the Rifle Branch Library. You can also stop by to receive information about serving your country if you are considering joining the armed forces. If you have loved ones overseas that have access to web cameras, come and use our iPad to Skype with them in one of our study rooms.

Friendship Tea: It's 4 o'clock Somewhere!

Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Saturday, May 4 at 2:00 pm and learn how to prepare an exceptional cup of tea. Sample our fine selection of teas served in bone china cups and accompanied with scones and clotted cream. Local tea drinker Ann Honchell will teach you all you need to know to enjoy a proper cup of tea. Participants can also make a little treat box and take home a tea cookie to remember your afternoon.

Mosaic Mandalas Student Art

Rifle High School art teacher Liz Waters proudly presents her student's hand painted glass mosaics.

Celebrate their fine work during our "Art in the Stacks" reception at the Rifle Branch Library on Wednesday, May 1 at 6:00 pm.
