On Saturday, February 5th at 7 pm the Friends of the Parachute Library will host the talented classical guitarist Javier de los Santos at the Parachute Branch Library. Javier holds a Masters of Music Degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Denver. He has performed with the Symphony in the Valley and the Mesa State College Symphony Orchestra, at the Aspen Music Festival, and many other venues in the United States and Mexico. This is a ticketed event, and tickets are free courtesy of the Friends of the Parachute Library.
This month the popular event will feature slime, dancing raisins, and milk paintings. GBG is open to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Join us on Wednesday, February 2nd from 4-6 pm, and you too can take home slime! Reservations are required, simply call 285-9870 and some fantastic slime will be set aside just for you!

Create the perfect New York Beauty quilting block by learning to paper piece at the Parachute Branch Library on Saturday, March 12th from 9am-5pm. Paper piecing allows you to create very difficult blocks with perfect accuracy. This class will be taught by Patt Jones from the Glenwood Sewing Center. Supply lists are available at the branch. A $20 fee is due at registration. Space is limited.
Join the Parachute Branch Library on Friday, February 25th at 1pm for the second class on how to knit socks. (Check out the first class on February 11th!) A supply list is available at the branch. Basic knitting skills are required.
Have breakfast with Garfield County Commissioner Mike Samson at the Parachute Branch Library on February 15th at 9am. Mr. Sampson will discuss projects he is working on in our area. This informal chat will give you an opportunity to voice any ideas or concerns you have for the commissioner's office.

Patt Jones from the Glenwood Sewing Center is coming to the Parachute Branch Library on Saturday, January 15th from 9am-3pm to help you make the perfect itty bitty purse. Registration and a $10 non-refundable class fee are due by January 5th. The class fee covers the cost of your purse pattern and lunch.
