The Amazing Race
Come to the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, July 26th at 3pm to compete in The Amazing Race! You compete in teams on challenges from around the world in a race to the finish! The object of this game is to use your library skills to find the materials you need to collect to survive. You will be rewarded with fish for your accomplishments. Fish earned throughout the game may be used to buy prizes at the fish auction at the end of the game.
Bug Bon Appetit!
Challenge your taste buds to an afternoon of bug sampling! Grasshopper? Cockroach? Yummmmm! This is for real! Come to the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, July 12, at 3pm to take advantage of this fun opportunity to sample bugs. Bring your friends: there is plenty to go around.
Tween/Teen Tech Petting Zoo
The Parachute Branch Library is hosting a Tween/Teen Tech Petting Zoo on Tuesday, June 14th at 3pm. This is your chance to play with electronic gadgets, and ask questions: how does this work? what can I do with it? This summer, one teen will win a Nook, so come check out the latest eReaders and audiobook technology.
Folklorico Dancers
Summer is here, and the Library District's Summer Reading Program is in full gear with lots of fun programs! Come see the Vallet Folklorico de Santa Maria dancers perform at the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, June 30th at 6:30 - 7:30pm.
Baile folklórico, literally "folkloric dance" in Spanish, is a collective term for traditional Latin American dances that emphasize local folk culture with ballet characteristics - pointed toes, exaggerated movements, highly choreographed. This is a family event that you don't want to miss!
Ice Cream Social
Summer is here, and the Library District's Summer Reading Program is in full gear! It's hot outside, so come to the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, July 21st at 10am for an ice cream social! Celebrate reading with ice cream.

Magician Ann Lincoln
The amazing magician, Ann Lincoln, is coming to the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, July 28, at 10am. Ann Lincoln will amaze you with her incredible magic tricks and expert juggling. Plus, she's sure to tickle your funny bone!

The Denver Zoo is coming to GCPLD!
The Denver Zoo is bringing a van full of animals from around the globe to GCPLD! Come see all the animals at the Parachute Branch Library on Friday, July 15th at 10am. This program is only for children in Kindergarten to 5th grade.

Charlie "The Noiseguy" Williams
Love to make weird noises with your mouth? Wonder how others do it? Check out "The Noiseguy" on Thursday, June 23rd at 10am at the Parachute Branch Library with his "Many Noises, One Mouth" show. Grab a ticket, take a front row seat, and let yourself be sound bound as Charlie teaches how to make your mouth do wonders!
Kickoff Celebration & Canvas Bag Making
The Summer Reading Program kicks off at the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, June 16th. Come in for the celebration, and pick up a summer reading book bag to make your own. Use our art supplies, and show off your creative talents.
