Kids ages 10 and under are welcome to stop by the Parachute Branch Library on December 22 for an ornament kit you can "take and make." Ornament kits will be available all day (the branch is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) but come in before they're gone!

Take a day away from your regular routine and work on any crafting project with us at the Parachute Branch Library. Sew, knit, crochet - have gifts to finish? This day is just for you! We'll host a "Make It" Monday on the first Mondays of November and December (November 7 and December 5). Drop in anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and stay as long as you like. We'll serve a soup and salad supper at 5:30 p.m. We'll also have tables, ironing borads, irons, and cutting mats all set up for your convenience.

Join us for Bedtime Storytime at the Parachute Branch Library from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20. Wear your pajamas and bring your teddy bear for a fun-filled night of stories.

All are invited to join the Page Turners Book Club at the Parachute Branch Library for lively conversation and book discussion. The Page Turners meet on the second Tuesday of every month from 7-9 p.m.

Students in grades 5-8 are invited to come play with our tech toys at the Parachute Branch Library on November 22 and December 27 from 2-3:30 p.m. Laptop computers, board games (ok, so maybe that's "low tech"), Wii games and a big screen - a.k.a. the works! - combine to make this a techie's dream. Computers don't seem to be going away, so isn't it time you improved those skills? This class is designed to help you learn the basics of computer use. With our small classes and friendly instructors, you can do it! Classes are free but advance registration and basic mouse skills are required. Classes meet at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesdays from October 4 through November 15, from 9-10 a.m. For more information or to register, call the library at 285-9870.

The next round of The Alex Project is starting soon! Sign up at the Parachute Branch Library September 26-30. By signing up, you are agreeing to read one Alex Award-winning book with a partner.

Another round of The Alex Project has begun! The Alex Project celebration will be held on Monday, November 14, at the Parachute Branch Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is where you'll meet your partner, rate your book, share your thoughts with the group, hear about the books that other teams read, and sign up for another round, if you so desire.
