Middle School Art Show

The New Castle Branch Library is hosting an art show and exhibit for middle school students from Riverside and Rifle Middle Schools from Thursday, May 3 to May 10.

Teen TAG Tour & Treats

Teens currently part of New Castle's Branch LIbrary Teen Advisory Group, or any teens in grades 7-12 who are interested in joining the group, are invited to join us at the new library facility on Wednesday, April 18 for a tour, pizza, and a chance to plan fun prgorams for teens by teens. If you can't make it by 4:30pm, just come anytime before 6:00pm, and we'll save you some pizza!

Teen Advisory Group (TAG) Meeting

The New Castle Branch Library wants your ideas and is seeking students to join the Teen Advisory Group (TAG).

TAG is run by teens for teens!

  • Plan and attend programs
  • Help select materials for the teen collection
  • Promote teen activities to peers and schools
  • Provide ideas to help create an inviting teen area
  • Discuss new books, movies, and music
  • Volunteer for library programs

Foundation Celebration feat. C. J. Box

Join us at the newly renovated New Castle Branch Library on Tuesday, April 24, for an evening with best-selling author C. J. Box! Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Garfield County Public Library Foundation, which promotes and supports the Garfield County Libraries.

Create Ukrainian Eggs for Easter

Jaci Spuhler will return to the New Castle Branch Library on Saturday, March 10, to teach the traditional method of creating pysanky, or Ukrainian Easter eggs. Due to popular demand, we will host two workshops: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. Space is limited to 10 students per class, so please register in advance at the library or by calling 984-2346. The class is open to everyone in grade 9 and up. There is a materials fee of $3 per person.

Greeting Card Workshop

Teens, come learn the techniques for making special greeting cards at the New Castle Branch Library on Tuesday, February 7, at 6:30 p.m. Just bring your imagination! Please register in advance, as space is limited; you can stop by the library or call 984-2346. Everyone will leave with a special project.

Playing with Tech Toys: Learn to download library materials

Bring your questions about eBook readers - and your device, if you have one - to our New Castle Branch and meet with professional geeks from the Marmot Library Network on Thursday, January 26, at 6 p.m. We'll help you download eBooks and other materials from the Garfield County Libraries' website and answer your questions. This program is free (and so are the eBooks)!

Holiday Tea

Come to a traditional holiday tea at the New Castle Branch Library on Monday, December 5, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. We will discuss holiday customs from around the world. Children are welcome to attend with an adult. For more information, please call the library at 984-2346.

Storytime Halloween Parade

During the week of Halloween, the New Castle Branch Library is putting storytime on parade! Wear your costume and bring a trick-or-treat bag.
