Summer Family Movie Night- Dolphin Tale
Escape the heat and bring the family to the New Castle Branch Library at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 16th to watch the movie "Dolphin Tale". We will be providing popcorn and soda.
Mammoths and Mastodons and Sloths, Oh My!
Come to the New Castle Branch Library at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 31st where Jim Campbell, PhD, and Sandy Jackson, MA, both adjunct professors at Colorado Mountain College, will talk about their experiences at the Snowmass dig site during the summer of 2011. Participants will learn about the excavation process and what was discovered. The presentation will be geared toward adults but children and teens are welcome.
Alex Project Celebration
Participants of the New Castle Branch Library's Alex Project are invited to a special spaghetti dinner to celebrate the finish of their novels. Dinner will begin at 6:30 at the library.
Manga Workshops
Teens and manga artists, join your peers at the New Castle Branch Library every Wednesday at 4:30 pm to learn techniques and share your talents. All levels are welcome- just bring a pencil, paper, and your imagination.
Paws to Read
Practice reading to a friendly dog! Indy the dog provides a pressure-free audience for children to practice their reading-aloud skills -- and he loves to listen to stories! This event requires advance registration and parent permission. Sign up for a 15-minute session at the New Castle Branch. This event is held on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m. Paws to Read is also held at our Gordon Cooper (Carbondale) and Rifle Branches.
Teen TAG Group
The New Castle Branch Library wants your ideas and is seeking students to join the Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Teens currently part of the New Castle Branch Library TAG and any teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join us for the chance to plan programs, purchase, books, movies and music for teens by teens.
Summer Reading Movie Night
Dream Big with the Adult Summer Reading Program on Thursday, June 21st at 6:30 as we watch the classic movie "Fields of Dreams." We'll provide the snacks and drinks. This program is free and open to all ages and families.
Make a Dream Catcher Workshop
Come to the New Castle Branch Library at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 12th where you can Dream Big as you spend the evening with friends and learn how to make a dream catcher. All supplies will be provided so you can dream up your own dream catcher to take home.
Teen Advisory Group (TAG) Meeting
The New Castle Branch Library wants your ideas and is seeking students to join the Teen Advisory Group (TAG).
TAG is run by teens for teens!
