An Evening with Anita Witt

Anita Witt, author of "I Remember One Horse" and "They Came from Missouri" and executive producer of the documentary "The Last of the Cowboys in the Roaring Fork Valley" will be coming to the New Castle Branch Library on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:30 p.m. The program will include a showing of "The Last of the Cowboys in the Roaring Fork Valley" and a discussion of Ms. Witt's books.

Storytime Halloween Parade

Storytimers will trick or treat at downtown New Castle businesses. Meet at the New Castle Branch Library by 10:30 am on Tuesday, Oct. 30th.

Parade will begin at 10:30 am. Moms & Dads are encouraged to dress up too!

Storytime

Now that the summer reading program is finished for this year, storytime will be resuming twice a week. Along with changing the nights the library will be open until 8 pm, we will be changing the day of the week that our storytimes will be held on. Preschool storytime will now be on Tuesday at 10:30 am (formerly Wed) and Toddler storytime will be Thursday at 10:30 am (formerly Fri).

Hunger Games Movie

You survived your first week back to school!  All teens are welcome to join us at the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, August 24th AND August 25th for a premiere viewing of the Hunger Games!  Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

New Castle Branch Library Digital Camera Club

Anyone interested in any aspect of digital camera is welcome to come to the New Castle Branch Library on Wednesday, September 12th to share their successes and get answers to burning questions. Bring your camera, printed photos, photos stored in a memory stick, or on-line. We have wi-fi and a large-screen projection system here at the library so everyone can make the most of the discussion. Whether you are a beginner or experienced photographer you will have a fun time.

Digital Camera Club

 Amateur photography enthusiasts meet at the New Castle Branch Library at 7:00 pm to learn from local professionals how to get the most out of their digital cameras, exchange ideas, and participate in fun projects. Join in discussions on lighting, focus, color, angles, lenses, software, and all aspects of turning a photo into art. Please bring your camera, other equipment, and recent photos (either printed or stored) to present and discuss.

Toddler Storytime

 Storytime for toddlers (ages 1-3) and their accompanying adults is every Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the New Castle Branch Library.

Computers for Beginners, Level 1

Come to the New Castle Branch Library on Saturday, July 21st from 2:00 to 3:30 pm when Go2Workshops@YourLibrary offers a Computers for Beginners, Level 1 workshop!  This workshop is for true beginners - no computer experience necessary.  This class introduces computer vocabulary including both hardware and software terms.  Learn to use the mouse and keyboard.  Learn basic computer tasks in a Windows environment, and learn the differences between a document and a program.  There are classes offered for both English and English learning participants.

Computers for Beginners, Level 3

Come to the New Castle Branch Library on Thursday, July 19th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm when Go2Workshops@YourLibrary offers a Computers for Beginners, Level 3 workshop!  Learn how to organize files into folders, find "lost" files, and print documents.  You will also learn how to change you desktop settings, create a shortcut, and more.  Completion of "Computers for Beginners Level 1" and "Computers for Beginners Level 2, " or intermediate computer, mouse, and keyboard skills are required to attend this workshop.

Weave a Napkin Basket

 By popular demand, the New Castle Branch Library will present a basic basket weaving class on Saturday, September 22nd from 1 to 3 pm.  Registration is required.
