5th Element K-2 Class @ New Castle

Hey kids, have you ever heard Grandfather Tang's Story? Want to find out what in the world is a Tangram? Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, December 7 from 12 to 2 p.m. to for a fun time with geometry with Mr. Stanley. We will build 3D structures with toothpicks and marshmallows. Who knows what other crazy things Mr. Stanley has planned! Come and find out. Supplies and snacks will be provided. This class is limited to 25 children, and preregistration is required to attend this event.

Teen Advisory Group

 Teens currently part of TAG, as well as anyone in grades 7-12, are invited to join us for the chance to help plan programs, purchase books, movies, and music for teens.  TAG meets at the New Castle Branch Library on the third Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m.

Memories of the Future

 Help us decorate and fill a time capsule! Teens are invited to fill out a “me” questionnaire, create an original piece, or bring in something (that you will not have need for in the next year) to put in a time capsule. We will decorate and hide the Time Capsule in the basement to be opened January 2014. Be sure to bring something with your name and good phone number or email so we can invite you to the opening next January!

Starting in January you can book a librarian to assist you one-on-one with downloading library books onto your divce. On January 19th we will be focusing on Kindles and devices with a kindle app. January 26th we will be focusing on Nooks.


You can also book an appointment at other times more convenient for you.

Digital Camera Club

 This is an informal gathering of people interested in all aspects of digital photography, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Bring your cameras, questions, and photos in any form. If they are on a disc or memory stick we can project them onto a large screen for all to see.  Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at the New Castle Branch Library.

Daytime Book Club

Join this new book club where we will explore fabulous stores in the light of day. Please come prepared with ideas for future titles, and plan on having a good time sharing your passion for good books. Light refreshments will be served.  Club meets at the New Castle Branch Library at 10:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.

Preschool Storytime

The New Castle Branch Library invites all preschoolers to storytime every Monday at 10:30. Join us for stories, crafts and new friends!

Please note there will be no storytime on New Years Day.
