Dinner and a Movie: The Grapes of Wrath

 Join us at the New Castle Branch Library for a Big Read event on Monday, February 4th at 6:00 p.m. Take a night off and a trip back in time for a showing of “The Grapes of Wrath” and bring-what-you-can soup. New Castle will provide crock pots, both vegetarian and meat variety soup broth, and eating utensils. We encourage all who come to bring something cooked or prepared beforehand (a can of beans, cut vegetables, cooked chicken, etc.) to add to the soup, which will be served throughout the film showing.

What Are You Reading? Bookclub

What are you reading? Bookclub is a book discussion group for elementary school aged children, from 3rd through 5th grades. Meet at the New Castle Branch Library on Tuesday, February 5th 4:30 p.m. to share your favorite books and authors. After school snacks will be served!  Bookclub meets on the first Tuesday of every month.

Toddler Storytime

 All toddlers are invited to join us at the New Castle Branch Library for stories, crafts and new friends every Monday at 10:30! You are never too young to enjoy stories!

After School Arts and Crafts

 All elementary school aged children are invited to meet at the New Castle Branch Library at 4:30 p.m. on February 7. We will explore different arts and crafts. All supplies will be provided, as well as after school snacks.  This program takes place on the first Thursday of every month.

Ukrainian Eggs

 Jaci Spuhler is returning to the New Castle Branch Library on Saturday, March 9th to guide classes through the traditional method of creating a Ukrainian Egg for Easter. Classes take place at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

Registration is required and there is a $3.00 materials fee.  There is a maximum of 10 participants per class. 

Valentine Tea

 Sons and daughters, bring your mothers, fathers, grandmas and grandpas to a Valentine Tea at the New Castle Branch Library Community Room on Wednesday, February 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Special desserts and teas will be served.

5th Element 3-4 Class @ New Castle

Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, January 25 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to get creative with collages with Ms. Margaret Cooke. Children will create collages using all kinds of materials, such as feathers, buttons, twigs, seeds, beans, newspapers, magazines, foam pieces, all kinds of paper, string, yarn and much, much more! There will be time to design a collage for a special treasure box for you to keep. Supplies and snacks will be provided. This class is limited to 25 children, and preregistration is required to attend this event.

5th Element K-2 Class @ New Castle

Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, January 25 from 12 to 2 p.m. to get creative with collages with Ms. Margaret Cooke. Children will create collages using all kinds of materials for your special collage. Supplies and snacks will be provided. 5th Element 3-4 Class @ New Castle

Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, January 18 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn about weaving with Ms. Margaret Cooke. Children will use ribbons, paper strips, yarn, pipe cleaners, natural materials, straws, paper plates, and even magazines to do various weaving projects. Come join the fun! Supplies and snacks will be provided. This class is limited to 25 children, and preregistration is required to attend this event.
