Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

Teens currently part of TAG, as well as anyone in grades 7-12, are invited to join us for the chance to plan programs, purchase books, movies, and music for teens. TAG meetings are held at the New Castle Branch Library on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 pm.

ArtillumA Dance Company

ArtillumA Dance Company is bringing members from two of their dance companies to show you how to bust a new move. Learn the basic styles of hip-hop, including top-rock, down-rock, popping, locking, and lyrical! We’ll have a great time, and you’ll leave with a bit of choreography to practice at home or show off to your friends!

This teen event will be held at the New Castle Branch Library on Thursday, July 25 at 1:00 pm.

Bugs, Bugs, and More Bugs

What’s creepy, crawly, and absolutely everywhere? Bugs, Bugs, and More BUGS! Come see why bugs are the inspiration for scary movie monsters. Come see which bugs make the tastiest snacks. Dare to be Dazzled! Dare to eat a bug yourself! OR just dare your friends to try a taste!

Bugs, Bugs, and More Bugs will be held at the New Castle Branch Library on Thursday, July 11 at 1:00 pm.

 

Hack the Surface

Hacker. A term that conjures up images of computer tyrants exploiting other computers to obtain control or steal information. But that’s not the only kind of ‘hacker’ out there. In fact, YOU may be a hacker, and you don’t even know it! Join us at the New Castle Branch Library on Thursday, June 27 at 1:00 pm as we ‘Hack the Surface’ with a variety of hacker/maker activities, including TabLab, BrushBots, and MakeyMakey, that will put your mind and skills to the test!

First come, first served on supplies for BrushBots.

Banana Split Book Club

Teens! Join us at the New Castle Branch Library on Thursday, July 18 at 1:00 pm for the book club that combines reading and discussing good books with delicious banana splits. Banana Split Book Club meets the third Thursday of each month.

Zinio How-to Workshop

 Zinio is the ultimate app for magazine lovers, with digital magazines for iPad, iPhone, Android, Mac, and PC. With your Garfield County Library membership, you can now download digital copies of magazines like Food Network, Digital Photo, National Geographic, and more... at no cost to you! Join us at the New Castle branch Library on Saturday, June 29, at 10:15 am to learn about Zinio, and how to make it a part of your digital life!

Ice Cream Social

Beat the heat with a yummy treat! Join us for an Ice Cream Social at the New Castle Branch Library on Wednesday, July 3 at 10:30 am.

Daytime Book Club

Join this new book club where we will explore fabulous stories in the light of day. Please come prepared with ideas for future titles, and plan on having a good time sharing your passion for good books.
We will be meeting on Tuesdays at 10:30 am for the months of June and July, at the New Castle Branch Library.

Scrabble Club

If you love words, games and having fun, this club is for you! Our adult scrabble club meets from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on the second Wednesday of every month at the New Castle Branch Library.
Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join our club which is free and open to the public. Make new friends and learn new scrabble strategies. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and dictionaries are provided. 

New Castle Storytime

All preschoolers are invited to The New Castle Branch Library Storytime every Tuesday at 10:30 am. Join us for stories crafts and friends.
