Teen Zone
Come to Teen Zone in the Gordon Cooper Library Community Room on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm. Study, surf the net, read, write, draw, hang out. Bring a laptop or borrow one of ours.
Storytime for Toddlers & Infants
Enjoy age appropriate books, songs and more at weekly storytimes for infants and toddlers. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Storytime for Toddlers & Infants takes place at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Thursdays at 10:30.
Paws to Read
Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. for PAWS to READ! Children in grades K-5 can sign up to read to the dogs for approximately 15 minutes. Featuring dogs and handlers/literacy specialists from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley.
Music and Game Day
This month our focus is on poetry and song lyrics. Bring a song or poem to share, if you can. Our resident musician/ songwriter/Youth Services Librarian will lead poetry and songwriting activities and then hand out the rhythm instruments so you can jam and dance. Music and Game day is the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library. For kids in grades K-5.
Movie Day
Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on the fourth Tuesday of each month for popcorn and a movie! For Kids in Grades K-5.

Bilingual Storytime/Hora de Cuentos Bilingües
Stories, songs and fingerplays for children. For children age 1-5. Led by Alejandra Rico, Assistant Youth Services Librarian.

Story Art with the Aspen Art Museum
Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held at the Gordon Cooper Branch LIbrary on the first Tuesday of each month and are for children in grades K-5.
Musical Storytime with Sue
Special weekly musical storytime full of songs, stories, and more! For all ages. Led by our Youth Services Librarian and award winning children's musician, Sue Schnitzer.
Storytime takes place at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Mondays at 4:00 pm.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe
Garfield County Libraries presents an exciting program about the universe, stars, and other celestial wonders. This hands-on program is hosted by astrophysicist, Kevin Manning, who is a former NASA consultant. Following an indoor presentation, we will all go outdoors to view celestial objects in the night sky, such as the rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon, and more.
Living Wills Clinic
Does the whole idea of "estate planning" seem a little off-putting to you? Don't let the legal terminology fool you. Estate planning doesn't have to be difficult, expensive, or depressing. Come to a Living Wills Clinic at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Thursday, February 25 at 6:30 p.m. to learn about the basics of estate planning. Estate planning is something you do for your family. Get it done, and you'll feel better knowing that you've taken care of them. This free clinic is hosted by Alpine Legal Services.
