Go2Workshops@YourLibrary features a Basic Troubleshooting Workshop for Mac Users. This workshop will teach users what to do when things go wrong. Bring your Mac and your questions! This workshop will be taught by ByteMarks owner, Donna Dalton.

Computers for Beginners, Level 1
Go2Workshops@YourLibrary is offering a Computers for Beginners, Level 1 workshop! This workshop is for true beginners – no computer experience necessary. This class introduces computer vocabulary including both hardware and software terms. Learn to use the mouse and keyboard. Learn basic computer tasks in a Windows environment, and learn the differences between a document and a program. There are classes offered for both English and English Learning participants. All you need is the willingness to learn! Sign up in advance by calling or visiting your local branch.

April is Poetry Month @ the Library!
"A little Madness in the Spring is wholesome even for the King" -- Emily Dickinson
To celebrate Poetry Month, everyone is invited to submit poetry to display at the Gordon Cooper Library on the "Poetry Wall" during the entire month of April. Local middle school classes will be displaying their poetry. Come in and check out the poetry written by community members of all ages.
Song lyrics, pocket poems, and random acts of poetry encouraged.

Lemonade Day is a nationwide event for youth to experience the thrill of runnign their own business. Children (K-12) can register at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on May 7, 8, and 16 between 3:30-5:00pm or on Satruday, May 19 between 11:00am to 1:00pm. During registration, children will receive a backpack of free materials for both them and a caring adult. The materials provide a month-long learning experience for creating a business. This step-by-step process culminates in Lemonade Day on Saturday, June 30!

Taking Science to the Extreme: Arctic Research Adventure
The Gordon Cooper Branch Library presents "Taking Science to the Extreme: Arctic Research Adventure" with Susy Ellison on Thursday, April 26 at 6:30pm. What do tree rings and chert chips have in common? How is climate change impacting trees at the northern limits of their growth? Why and how do scientists travel to the far north to study old trees and ancient cultures? What does it really take to "do" scientific research in far-away places? She will talk about the science and process of doing field research in "extreme" locations.
Friends of the Gordon Cooper Library Spring Book Sale
Friends of the Gordon Cooper Branch Library host their annual fall book sale from Friday, April 13, through Monday, April 23, during regular library hours:
Monday & Wednesday: 10 am - 8 pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 10 am - 6 pm
Friday & Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
-Please note the library will be closed on Friday, April 20 for staff work day.
The branch is closed on Sunday.
The Titanic -- 100th Anniversary
To commemorate the sinking of the Titanic 100 years ago, the Gordon Cooper Branch Library's time machine is taking all willing participants (at their own risk!) back in time to the day before the actual sinking! Can we alter the course of history? Kids in grades 4-7 are invited to join us on this historical adventure!
