Special Board Meeting
The Board of Trustees will hold a special board meeting on Tuesday, November 26. The board will meet via conference phone call at 9 a.m.; members of the public who are interested in attending may do so at the Administrative Office of the library district, located in Rifle. National Friends of Libraries Week

Teen Read Week
Teen Read Week, an initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), is an annual celebration to encourage teens to "Read for the Fun of It!"
Teens, do you need reading ideas? Check out YALSA's Teens' Top Ten, a "teen choice" list where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! The 2010 list will be revealed during Teen Read Week in October but you can peruse last year's winners on the 2009 Teens' Top Ten list:
Banned Books Week
During Banned Books Week and all year 'round, the Garfield County Libraries defend your freedom to read!
Banned Books Week (BBW) is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. BBW highlights the benefits of free and open access to information while drawing attention to the harms of censorship by spotlighting actual or attempted bannings of books across the United States.
Book Lovers Day

Closure: New Year's Day
All Garfield County Libraries will be closed on Saturday, January 1, in observance of New Year's Day. Regular hours resume at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 2, at the Rifle and Glenwood Springs Branch Libraries and at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, at our other branches.
