Toddler Storytime

Toddlers are invited to the New Castle Branch Library for Toddler Storytime every Thursday at 10:30. This program includes simple stories, activities and special friends. It's never too early to come to storytime! 

Early Closure: Holiday Reception

The Rifle and Glenwood Springs Branch Libraries will close at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, so our employees may gather for a holiday reception.  Other branches are close on Sundays and will not be affected. Regular hours resume at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, at all branches.

Early Closure

 All Garfield County Libraries will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, and remain closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular hours resume at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at all branches.

Storytime

 All preschoolers are invited to join their friends at the New Castle Branch Library every Tuesday at 10:30 for stories, crafts and new friends.

After School Arts and Crafts

 All school aged children are invited to meet at the New Castle Branch Library at 4:30 pm on Thursday, March 7th to explore different arts and crafts. All supplies will be provided, as well as after school snacks.

What Are You Reading? Book Club

"What are you reading? Book Club" is a book discussion group for elementary school aged children, from 3rd through 5th grades. Meet at the New Castle Branch Library Tuesday, February 5 and the first Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm to share your favorite books and authors. After school snacks will be served! 

Preschool Movie Day

Special Movie Day storytime for preschoolers Tuesday, March 5 and Thursday March 7 at 10:30 am at the New Castle Branch Library. Milk and cookies will be served!

Bilingual Big Read Storytime

 The Gordon Cooper Branch Library presents a bilingual Big Read storytime on Tuesday, February 12th at 10:30 a.m. with age-appropriate songs and stories from the Dust Bowl era. Come hear songs from the Woody Guthrie “Grow Big collection.” Children will even get to make and play tambourines. This program will be led by Alejandra Rico, the Gordon Cooper Branch Assistant Youth Services Librarian, and Sue Schnitzer, the Gordon Cooper Branch Youth Services Librarian, and an award winning children’s musician.

Bilingual Storytime/Hora de Cuentos Bilingües

Stories, songs and fingerplays for children. For children age 1-5. Led by Alejandra Rico, Assistant Youth Services Librarian.
 

Cuentos, canciones y juegos con los dedos. Para niños de uno a cinco años. Alejandra Rico contará los cuentos y guiará las actividades manuales.
