Participate in the Summer Reading Program and receive an invitation to a Special Library Preview of the New Carbondale Branch Library facility on Thursday, July 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm..

This is an invitation only event for participants of the Summer Reading Program. We will host a tour of the new facilities, and attendees will have the opportunity to browse our brand new collection and check out new materials. Refreshments and appetizers will be provided.

Parachute Branch Library's May Counting Contest is getting us ready to "Dig Into Reading" in June by counting stones! The winner will receive the chance to "dig in" with a lunch at a local restaurant of their choice.

Stories, songs, and fingerplays for children. For children ages 1-5. Led by Alejandra Rico, Assistant Youth Services Librarian.

Bilingual Storytime/Hora de Cuentos Bilingües takes place at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 am.

There will be no Bilingual Storytime/Hora de Cuentos Bilingües on June 26.

The Gordon Cooper Branch Library will close on June 23rd, 2013.

The new Carbondale Branch Library will open on July 20th, 2013.

Gordon Cooper Branch Library kids' events will take place at the Carbondale Town Hall at 511 Colorado Avenue. Teen events will be held at the Carbondale Recreation Center at 567 Colorado Avenue.

This teen book club combines reading and discussing a good book with delicious banana splits! We will meet the third Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm at the New Castle Branch Library. Give us a call to find out what we are currently reading.

 We are kicking off the Teen Summer Reading Program with a rock party. The theme this year is Beneath the Surface and what do we frequently find there? Rocks! We will be painting rocks, playing Rock Party/Guitar Hero on the Wii, and eating pop rocks. Come and start your summer off like a "rock" star.
