The Good, the Bad, and the Gross
The Good, the Bad, and the Gross is hands on learning at its best. Designed for grades 4-6, participants are challenged to come ready for the good, the bad, and yes, the really gross!
Program takes place at the Parachute Branch Library on Monday, October 15th from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
Toddler Time
Come to the Parachute Branch Library Wednesday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 am for Toddler Time! Finger play, music, and great stories along with playtime make this storytime the highlight of any toddler's day.
Monday Math Madness
Oreo cookies and Math? You bet!
You too can lean those pesky multiplication facts in the most crazy ways. Fourth and fifth graders are invited to the Parachute Branch Library on Mondays from 10:00 to 10:30 am for Monday Math Madness beginning October 29th. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Reservations required.
Ready to Read Storytime
Love a great story? Come to the Parachute Branch Library on Mondays from 11:00 am to 12: noon where you can watch books come alive and take part in this interactive storytime with Miss Michelle.
NOTE: There will be no storytime on Monday, October 1st.
Hunger Games Movie
You survived your first week back to school! All teens are welcome to join us at the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, August 24th AND August 25th for a premiere viewing of the Hunger Games! Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
Let's Twist Pinwheels Quilt Class
Nothing is better than being with friends, eating soup and delicious homemade brownies, and quilting. If you think this might be fun, then please join us for the Let's Twist Pinwheels Quilt Class with instructor Judy Martens.
Story Art
The Aspen Art Museum is partnering with the Gordon Cooper Branch Library in Carbondale to offer Story Art, a free program that combines learning to read with visual literacy and art-making. Held once a month, this program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Registration is recommended. Story Art is held on the first Thursday of every month from 3:45 to 4:45 pm.
Fall Alex Celebration
All Alex Project partcipants are welcome to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Wednesday, October 24th to celebrate completing the project!

The Gordon Cooper Branch Library is continuing the Alex Project into the Fall. For teens this is a chance to increase your college resume, connect with the adults from the community and share the power of a great read. Carbondale's One Book One Town
Join us at the Round Room at the 3rd Street Center in Carbondale on Monday, October 22nd at 6:30 for a special author event celebrating the 9th annual One Book One Town. This year's selection, "Nothing Daunted" by Dorothy Wickenden, is available for checkout at the library.
