Storytime for Toddlers & Infants
Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for Storytime for Toddlers & Infants.
Enjoy age appropriate books, songs and more at weekly storytimes for infants and toddlers. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Musical Storytime with Sue
Special weekly storytime full of songs, stories, and more! For all ages. Led by our Youth Services Librarian and award winning children's musician, Sue Schnitzer.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Musical Storytime takes place at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Mondays at 4:00 p.m.
Grapes of Wrath Movie Night
Don’t’ miss this viewing of the classic film “The Grapes of Wrath,” starring Henry Fonda. This Big Read program will be at the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, February 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Winter Craft Night
The Glenwood Springs Branch Library is offering a special winter craft night for families with children of elementary or middle school age. We’ll make winter-themed creations and also have the opportunity to make Valentines for a special someone. The free program will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday February 7th at the library at 413 9th Street. Light snacks will be provided.
Reading Buddies
Be a Reading Buddy after school at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. After starting off with a group game and snack, younger readers are partnered with older reading buddies to practice and develop a love for reading. Before Reading Buddies is over we also offer those kids who need to do homework or have independent reading time a chance to choose their activity. Reading Buddies is open to kids from kindergarten through eighth grade and meets at the library at 413 9th Street from 4:00 to 5:00 pm every Tuesday during the school year.
Toddler Storytime
Toddlers and their accompanying adults are invited to attend story time at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Bi-Lingual Preschool Story Time/ Cuentos Bilingues
Preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, and their accompanying adults are invited to attend story time at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. For more information call the library at 970-945-5958.

Tween Book Club
Tweens (ages 9 to 12) are invited to read and talk about good books at the library. Each member selects their own book to discuss. Tweens will be writing anonymous reviews for a library "magazine" and blog, as well as creating bookmarks about their books (to be displayed in the library). The Tween Book Club meets after school on the second Thursday of each month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Light snacks are served.
Paws to Read
Come to the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on the fourth Thursday of every month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. for Paws to Read! Children in kindergarten through grade 5 can sign up ahead of time to read to a dog. The program is free and will feature dogs and handlers from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley. Please sign up ahead of time by visiting or contacting the library.
Scrabble Club
If you love words, games, and having fun, this club is for you! Our adult Scrabble Club meets from 5:30-8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join our club, which is free and open to the public. Make new friends and learn new Scrabble strategies. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and dictionaries are provided.
