 "What are you reading? Bookclub" is a book discussion group for elementary school aged children, from 3rd through 5th grades. Meet at the New Castle Branch Library on Tuesday, April 2 and the first Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. to share your favorite books and authors. After school snacks will be served!

This exhibit examines the story of the Dust Bowl and is free and open to the public during regular library hours.  Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Silt Branch Library on Friday, February 22 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn about world geography with Ms. Zabawa. Students will make a paper mache globe. Students will paint and label cities, states, countries and different landmarks all over the world on their globes! Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the Silt Branch Library on Friday, February 22 from 12 to 2 p.m. to come learn about world geography with Miss Zabawa. Students will understand the relationship between their community and the world by producing a hands-on activity that will involve painting, coloring, cutting, gluing and maps!. Students will be introduced to the key events and figures of the Civil Rights Movement. Supplies and snacks will be provided. Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, February 8 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to travel back in time to Ancient Egypt with Ms. Ashley Atwater. Together we will learn about how one of the first organized civilizations. We will get a chance to build a great pyramid together and create life size mummies. Students will also have the opportunity to create scrolls with their own hieroglyphic message inside.  Come join us on this exciting journey through Ancient Egypt! Supplies and snacks will be provided.
