Led by an instructor from the Aspen Art Museum, Story Art combines learning to read with art-making and activities that build visual literacy. This popular program introduces children to the basic foundations of art through engaging storybooks, looking activities, and hands-on art projects. Story Art programs are held at the Carbondale Branch Library on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm and are for children in grades K-5.
The Carbondale Branch Library offers a preschool storytime every Tuesday at 10:30 am. Enjoy books, songs, and more! This program is for children ages 3 to 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Teens are invited to use our iPad TabLab in the community room to explore great apps, browse the internet, play games, or do schoolwork. This event will take place at the Carbondale Branch Library every Monday and Wednesday in November from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.
Jerry Cunningham, Rifle Chess Club Coordinator, has been playing chess for most of his life. Lot of folks know how to move chess pieces, but Jerry will teach Chess Tactics for Beginners. This program will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at 6:30 pm. Class is limited to 12 participants, ages 18 and up.
Residents and students of Garfield County explored their communities and took photos related to healthy eating and active living over the summer as a part of LiveWell Colorado's Image to Action program. Photos can be found here. The Rifle Branch Library will be displaying these photographs between October 1 and November 30. An Art in the Stacks Reception will be held on Friday, November 1 at 6:00 pm as part of the City of Rifle's First Friday celebration.
This free introductory class will offer hands-on training for adults who have basic computer skills and are new users to the Internet. You will be able to identify some uses for the Internet, identify the parts of a URL and learn how to navigate to web pages, examine the elements of a web browser and web page, discuss how to stay safe while on the Internet, and you will be introduced to the library website. You will also have the opportunity to have your computer questions answered by our tech experts.

The New Castle Branch Library presents Teddy Bear Storytime, a special evening program for children of all ages!
