Bilingual Preschool Storytime/ Cuentos Bilingues

Preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their accompanying adults are invited to attend storytime at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 am.

Toddler Storytime

Toddlers and their accompanying adults are invited to attend storytime at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 am.

Storytime will not be held during the move to the new library. Our last session will be on August 13 and it will resume on Tuesday, September 17. 

Scrabble Club

If you love words, games, and having fun, this club is for you! Our adult Scrabble Club meets from 5:30 - 8:00 pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join our club, which is free and open to the public. Make new friends and learn new Scrabble strategies. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and dictionaries are provided.

Please note that Scrabble Club will not meet in September, as the library will be closed while we move to our new facility. Our regular meetings resume in October. 

Friends of the Carbondale Branch Library Meeting

The Friends of the Carbondale Branch Library will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, August 26 at 10:30 am at the Carbondale Branch Library to discuss upcoming issues at the library. The focus of this meeting will be to prepare for the One Book One Town event. This meeting is open to all Friends of the Carbondale Branch Library. TVS and Two Fingers: Sound Poetry Concert

TVS and Two Fingers is the union of Mark J. Rosoff and Dave Zekman, members of the experimental music group two fingers, alongside poet Tim Van Schmidt. Since 1996, they’ve been involving audiences with a mind-teasing mix of original spoken words and sound art made from traditional and VERY non-traditional instruments. What kinds of non-traditional instruments you ask? Come and see for yourself!

TVS and Two Fingers will perform at the Parachute Branch Library on Saturday, August 3 at 10:30 am.

Wii Games and Game Swap

Come play Wii games with us at the Carbondale Branch Library on Thursday, August 29 at 4:00 pm! We will also do a game swap. Bring your old games from any system and trade them with others!

Like comics? Want to create your own? We'll show you how using apps on the iPads in our TabLab. This program will take place at the Carbondale Branch Library on Thursday, August 22 at 4:00 pm.

Maker Music Monday

Want to write and record your own music? We will teach you how using GarageBand and other music apps on the iPads from the Library's TabLab on Monday, August 19 at 2:00 pm at the Carbondale Branch Library. Bring a memory stick so that you can bring your songs home with you to share with your friends or on Facebook!

Paws to Read

Come to the Carbondale Branch Library on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00 to 5:00 pm for Paws to Read! Children in grades K-5 can sign up to read to the dogs for approximately 15 minutes. Featuring dogs and handlers/literacy specialists from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley.
