We're adding a new element to our popular Wii Wednesdays! Join us at the Rifle Branch Library after school every Wednesday, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., and learn how to play the exciting new Math Wiz card game. Playing Math Wiz is a fun way to make math easier and quicker, while keeping your mind sharp and developing confidence in your mental math ability. Whether you're a dedicated mathlete or you're just waiting for your next turn with the Wii, come solve puzzles and earn points with us at the Math Wiz Club.
The next round of The Alex Project is starting soon! Sign up at the Parachute Branch Library September 26-30. By signing up, you are agreeing to read one Alex Award-winning book with a partner.
Another round of The Alex Project has begun! The Alex Project celebration will be held on Monday, November 14, at the Parachute Branch Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is where you'll meet your partner, rate your book, share your thoughts with the group, hear about the books that other teams read, and sign up for another round, if you so desire. Go back to school in style: design your own tie-dyed t-shirt! The Gordon Cooper Branch Library will help you create a unique piece of wearable art on Thursday, August 25, from 10 am to noon. This event is open to children of all ages, but space is limited. Participants must register at the library by August 13. Bowling for Books is back by popular demand! Join the Gordon Cooper Branch Library at the El Jebowl on Thursday, July 21 from 4-5pm. Bowl your way into some great reads! Score prizes for the craziest bowling style, the highest score, and everything in between. Even if you've never bowled before, you should join the fun: you won't regret it!
As a way of honoring Teen Summer Reading 2011, the Gordon Cooper Branch Library invites you to dive into the theme You Are Here by taking you somewhere far away -- through a movie, that is. Please join us as we travel to distant lands and enjoy foods from a foreign destination. Movie TBA.
